Drinking water does not automatically mean germ -free water. Even in Germany, according to the current German drinking water regulation, despite very high quality standards, 100 KBE (germ -forming units: bacteria, fungi, yeasts, etc.) per 1ML water are allowed in drinking water. By storing the water in the fresh water tank, hoses and boilers (stagnation water) as well as influences such as bio -available nutrients and heat, bacteria & Co. multiply in the fresh water system rapidly. Also ailing lines of the "water filling stations" on campsites, often in connection with inadequate standards of water treatment, especially in southern Europe or outside of Europe, are a problem. As a general standard, in addition to annual fresh water system care, we recommend the preservation of water in Central and Northern Europe. An additional disinfection of the water is advisable in south and outside of Europe.
Automatic water preservation
The automatic preservation of the water with every new tank filling using the proven silver ion technology of the silver network in the tank keeps the water fresh and at the same time reduces germ growth and biofilm formation in the entire fresh water system.
The fresh water system
In addition to water preservation and water disinfection, maintaining the fresh water system plays an important role in ensuring hygienic operation. With the (at least annual) fresh water system care, dirt such as lime deposits, bacteria & possibly existing biofilm are removed, which otherwise form a good breeding ground for growing germs.
In addition to the correct preparation technologies, maintaining the fresh water system plays an important role in ensuring hygienic operation. For example, the standard DIN 2001-2 speaks of a quarterly cleaning and disinfection interval (in the case of commercial use such as rentals) to ensure hygienic security in mobile vehicles.
Recommendation: Carry out the fresh water system at least once a year to basically preserve the water and in addition to disinfecting in south or outside of Europe due to the higher number of germ.

useful information
Pre -filter
Preliminary filters are ideal for filtering out dirt particles when filling the fresh water tank, so that they do not even get into the fresh water system. In the case of filter enemies up to a maximum of 10μm, they also ensure that organic substances are already retained from the water of the supply network, which favor biofilm growth in the fresh water system.
Activated carbon filter
Activated carbon filters are the best choice when it comes to removing pesticides, hormones, antibiotics or chloric residues from the water. Here it is important to pay particular attention to the flow. Effective retainer rates of> 90% (larger 90%) only result in a longer length of stay in the water on the activated carbon. As a guideline, you can assume a 10 “(size M) element of approx. 2l/min per element. Filling filters based on activated carbon at a flow of 5-10 liters/minute or even more are therefore not recommended.
UV systems
The UV-C technology enables water without the use of chemical disinfectants. This technology has recently also been based on LED, which brings many advantages. It is only through this technology that the UV-C germination can be realized in the mobile application in practice, since this does not require warm-up phase and can be switched in parallel to water, without delaying time and the water effectively exerts. The water flows through the stuculation unit directly when the water is removed. The devices are maintenance -free, without chemistry and accordingly environmentally friendly. Additional preservation of the water in the entire fresh water system is mandatory. UV emitters inside the tank are not recommended for several reasons. The different tank sizes/ geometries make it impossible to create a defined radiation dose in order to eliminate pathogens. This means that no statement can be made about the decimacy performance. In addition, the tank material is sustainably damaged by the UV radiation. Furthermore, most spotlights are "old design" and contain toxic mercury.
Sterile filter
A sterile filtration is a purely mechanical, physical filtration with filter enemy (pore size that has to pass the water) of ≤0.2μm (less than 0.0002mm). The filtration can be carried out when filling the fresh water tank or only in the vehicle in front of the withdrawal points. At first glance, this filtration technology replaces the chemical disinfection, but there should also be value on the preservation of the water in order to prevent the water (before and after the filter). Pre -filtration may make sense to extend the lifespan of the sterile filter.
Sodium hypochlorite
Sodium hypochlorite combats microorganisms/pathogens such as viruses, germs, fungi, bacteria and algae and disinfects (drinking) water within a few minutes. As an active ingredient, sodium hypochlorite can be used in almost all areas of water treatment. It is a highly effective and wide-acting disinfectant that has bactericidal, virucid, algicide and sporicide and, depending on the concentration, reduces biofilms in the short or long term. Sodium hypochlorite is certified according to the current drinking water regulation (TrinkwV), approved active ingredient, as well as according to DVGW W 291 and DIN 2001-2.
