Camping bus

Camping buses are the most agile motorhomes and are set up on the original body of a van with a sliding door. Due to their smaller dimensions, they are more suitable for everyday use than motorhomes from other genres. Heck doors also allow you to take it from bulky luggage. The space is sufficient for two people, but with several it becomes tight. In the case of camping buses, a distinction is made between the compact camper vans in VW Bulli size and the expanded panel van with an integrated bathroom.

The most common models are now a VW T4 T6 or one of the Mercedes V-Class. If you are planning to do everyday and leisure activities with only one vehicle, then an expanded van of this size is the right one for you. With these all -rounders, city trips, thanks to a lean line and suitable for parking work, are just as feasible as a week at the campsite. However, you should keep in mind that the space is rather modest, so you often look for a real bathroom in vain and also do turf trees on the sleeping place. The storage space is also limited, which is why the compact camping bus is ideal for traveling individuals or couples, but is less suitable for families.

A somewhat more spacious variant is then a expanded large panel van. It offers you a little more comfort in terms of living space, since a continuous standing height and a compact wet room are mostly standard. But that also makes him a little longer than a compact camping bus, because expanded panel vans start from 5.40 meters in length. But don't believe in the dream of endless comfort. Of course, the number of fellow travelers, four sleeping places in the vehicle in this size class are decisive for the mass.

Motorhomes

A successful alternative to the Alkovenmobil is a partially integrated Wemhobil. However, the sleeping facilities are really limited compared to the alcove mobile - lying areas are usually in the rear or as a lifting bed above the living area. Integrated motorhomes

Integrated motorhomes are the most extravagant version. They impress with an independent bug mask instead of the original cab and a huge windscreen that also ensures airiness inside. The independently designed cab changes seamlessly into the living area, which therefore has a particularly spacious effect.

Integrated often have a lifting bed in the bow over the front seats and therefore usually four sleeping places as standard. The fact that a driver's door is usually only installed is very rare, a passenger door very rarely. Disadvantages: a confusing bug with some bad engine access and a relatively high price.
