The outline light ensures improved perception in traffic. According to StVZO § 51b (outline lights), all vehicles with a width of 1.80 meters or more, but not wider than 2.10 meters, can be equipped with outline lights. However, all vehicles are to be equipped with an outline lamp whose width exceeds 2.10 meters. In particular, vehicles such as a caravan or mobile home are affected. The front and rear lights are required here.
